If you're still working through compatibility issues and testing, you may wish to temporarily ignore or block the update to prevent accidental updates until your testing completes. While we advocate upgrading your fleet to the latest macOS update available, we understand there can sometimes be application compatibility issues that may arise with new upgrades that sometimes don’t manifest in beta testing. ![]() Each request will be handled on a case by case basis.Each new macOS update brings numerous new features and security updates. If this is the case for you, please send CAS an email outlining the equipment/software that would prevent the upgrade, your current operating system, as well as the UNT asset tag on the computer. If your computer can not be upgraded to macOS Catalina due to research equipment or software incompatibilities, you may qualify for a computer exception. Note: If you are upgrading from OS X Lion or Mountain Lion, please make our Service Desk aware beforehand as your upgrade process will be different. If the upgrade fails for any reason, please contact our Service Desk. The upgrade will take 30-60 minutes and your computer will be unusable during this time. When ready, open Self Service, find Upgrade to macOS Catalina and select install.
